Finished block #18

I'm still 3 behind, but started working on one of those today. I would like to be caught up when the patterns for the border is released.

2 More Finished...

These are the latest completed blocks for me...though not sure about those embroidered stems on the wreath. Have done half way around and am wondering if I like them...will sit with it for awhile before doing some reverse sewing or finishing up. Don't know why exactly they are bothering me as I like all the embroidery up 'til now.

On to the next - Happy Stitching everyone!

Hello and Block 8

Hello, it has been a little while since I last wrote, it's not as if though, I haven't checked the blog regularly. I have had a lot of problems uploading comments with Blogger not allowing me access, but with Sharon's help, I hope that I have now resolved the problem, which I believe many of us have had.

Above is block no. 8. Once I had settled on my fabrics and combinations, which took me an age as I agonised whether to include the cream fabric or not, this block went together quite quickly, although it has taken me nearly a month, but unfortunately, work got in the way. Apologies that the picture is so dark, but I took it early this morning and the sky was very overcast.

Block 9, May's block is now prepped and ready to stitch - 43 berries hmmm.

Block 20 & center of block 16

I'm not thrilled with this, but the majority of people who commented on my blog seemed to think I should use my own handwriting....so I did. Now to applique the grapes.

#16 is done....maybe

I made my cherries/grapes slightly larger than the pattern, so they are close and some are overlapping; therefore, I may not do the embroidery stems, but we will see.   For now, I am posting a picture as it is now minus a couple of the cherries because of the size (the original has 112).

I am finding that I like sewing cherries down, but not prepping them.  It's very tedious getting them to the point of stitching onto the blocks.  I am sure glad to have this one behind me now.

My DD's wedding is less than two weeks, so not sure I will get to another block, but I will sure try.

Block #3, and some of 4

This should have been posted a few weeks ago, but I was too busy cleaning my sewing room, which with a big helping hand from a non-quilting friend of mine finally got done this week!  All the fabrics in my closet are sorted by color, and tools and trinkets have their place.  What a chore!  Yuck!  But Oh, what a feeling when it's done, and everything is clean and in place!  I can tell you, even though I haven't made as much sewing progress as I would have liked to, it sure feels good to get that project out of the way!

I have another excuse why ( besides thinking I should rather be sewing that taking out my camera to take pictures)  nothing's been posted:  I've not been happy with Block #3 and how it came out!
Did have to remind myself that this was a learning quilt, so after leaving it alone for a while, I decided to keep it, and just push on.....

No, I don't feel like pulling out the iron to flatten this one, you're just going to have to make do...

All in all, those fiddly-fingers were a pain-in-the-patootie,  but it's all behind me now, and Block #4 is prepped and looking a bit scruffy from traveling...

...nothing an iron won't sort out.
and waiting in the wings is block #5 being built....

#9

Here comes ole slow poke again...#9 is completed

But I have good excuses :o) - have been away from home and putting in major hours of gardening. Almost finished with #11 and have #10 prepped...jumping around a bit so not doing a number of the wreath blocks one after the other...

Have a good weekend everyone and happy stitching!
