Block 13

Another block done, now to focus on block 12.

I know, it's a little different from the pattern, but I just couldn't put that bud/bloom floating out on its own. Then I thought I needed to draw the eye up to the top right so I added the dots. I'll have to see if the dots stay when I get all the blocks done.

  2. I like your interpretation. I have always thought that the original block looks a little "odd" what with a floating bud, a broken stem plus a leaf growing out of a bud! I have wondered whether it was composed of "left-overs" from other blocks and put together?

I think your changes are within the spirit of the quilt and I like the dots particularly on the top iorange flower.

  3. I think the dots need to stay. they do add interest. Your block looks great and who is going to know that it doesn't exactly match the original when it is all said and done. Love it!

  6. Thanks everyone, I am pleased with how this turned out. Kate, that stem fabric is the only constant in all my blocks, I'm using it for all the stems/vines and for the bottom part of the bud flowers.

  9. Liz, I have made 13 blocks and I've prepped block 12. I skipped it and made #16 out of turn. I'm over the 1/2 way mark!
