Hello and Block 8

Hello, it has been a little while since I last wrote, it's not as if though, I haven't checked the blog regularly. I have had a lot of problems uploading comments with Blogger not allowing me access, but with Sharon's help, I hope that I have now resolved the problem, which I believe many of us have had.

Above is block no. 8. Once I had settled on my fabrics and combinations, which took me an age as I agonised whether to include the cream fabric or not, this block went together quite quickly, although it has taken me nearly a month, but unfortunately, work got in the way. Apologies that the picture is so dark, but I took it early this morning and the sky was very overcast.

Block 9, May's block is now prepped and ready to stitch - 43 berries hmmm.

  1. I love it and the cream looks good in your block, too.

  4. I am loving your block. The cream was a very good decision. I am enjoying all of the photos of blocks being shared. Thank you to all.

  5. I skipped the cream on this one, but I like it a lot on yours. I love the colors/tones of your fabric choices, and you did a great job of changing up the values on your flower sections, very nice!

  6. Another lovely block, Fiona. Your little bird is exquisite - my own block is done but minus the bird...not sure I have the ability to do something so small.

  7. Many thanks for everyone's comments. The top centre flower was supposed to have cream in the second layer, but it just did not "go" although the more I look at the piture the more I think I need to add something because the top is quite dark.

re: the bird - well I did consider leaving it off, but I like a challenge every now and again and it came out well first time around, although the head and nek remind me somehwat of a fmaous photograph of Nessie, the Loch Ness monster!!
