My First Block

Okay, it is official now...have just completed Block #1 - even though only 1 of those large cherries and 17 small gold centers, I can see the advantages of the paper pieces vs. Perfect Circles...especially down the road when tackling that border! I chose to do the little centers raised rather than reverse applique.

Thanks Sharon for all the patience and assistance in describing how to set up the blog. I am brand new to Blogger and don't even have my site up and running....still playing with the arrangements. There were some glitches with our Mozilla but everything is okay for now. In the meantime, I am still posting on WordPress also - just put a lengthier post up this afternoon at that location. Drop by for a visit (
Have a good week and Happy Stitching all those cherries.

  1. Welcome aboard. Glad you have figured out how to post, some of it's just trial by error. Love your fabric choices, I am so enjoying the plaids and prints. I too, did a second layer of applique for the gold centers. No reverse applique for me on dots that small.

  2. Your block is looking very cute. I like your background fabric. Good luck with block #2, I am still stuck on it.

  3. Congratulations - off and running!

  4. Woo-Hoo!! Way to go Pat!!! It's lovely!!

  5. Your first block looks great! I'm about to start this block, so was happy to see your raised center, as its exactly how I'm planning to do mine! Congrats on your first finish!
