Hello from icy, cold rainy Northern Wisconsin...a good day to stay inside and do some stitching.
Here is my block #7 - I think all 42 cherries are in place! You might notice something a little different...I would like to think I "approached this block in my own way" but in all honesty I goofed...instead of the open background showing around the basket handle, I interpreted as the inside of a vase and chose to do reverse applique in a gold interior along with the other 3 little openings. I was too far along when the realization hit - so as they say "it is, what it is...." and it is done and I can move on to more cherries and also start #8.
Hope it is okay to mention also - I have a little Giveaway going on - can you drop by for a visit?
Thanks much and keep stitching everyone!
Pat

I did notice the basket Pat and thought it looked great! Any little variances with each block really won't stand out when all the blocks are together.
ReplyDeleteI like the inside of the basket showing. Makes a lot of sense to me. I like the fabric on the inside and the outside and your lovely little cherrries. Altogether wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWell, it can be a bowl if you want and I think it looks great that way. Love your interpretation.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great "mistake" We are all going to have our "own" quilts when we finish, they are all going to be amazing!

ReplyDeleteAs Mimi and Sharon both pointed out...this is a good mistake. I too think it looks like a bowl. Onward and upward is what I always say...thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAs many people said, many times our mistakes are only "creative interpretation" . . . and your lovely interpretation looks so good! You inspire me to start making this quilt!
ReplyDeleteI like your basket and I think your block is really pretty. Now I sort of wish I had done the embroidery on mine.

ReplyDeleteSorry about that goof. It's your quilt so you can make the blocks look however you want!
ReplyDeleteI love your version!!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you did the vase, something to think about. Your block looks so rich in colour, really love that.
