Good morning,
I have just printed off this month's block and in order to do so I had to change the parameters of my priinter as I had just printed off another block of the Maltaville Quilt (I'm on a roll!) and it suddenly occured to me...
What parameters is everyone using to print off the BTCT patterns?
I have been using "fit to page", but with Margaret Mew's instructions for printing off the Maltaville blocks I have to use "None". I have now printed off Block 22 of BTCT using both parameters and there *is* a difference, i.e. those little flowers and circles in this month's blocks are larger!
At the end of the day I suppose it does not matter as long as all the blocks are printed using the same parameters, but interestingly, on my quilt the block on the 2nd row with all the little leaves is larger mainly because I had to use Gay's purchased pattern for that particular block. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will not have to make that one again!, but I think in future I will have to be more aware of the printing parameters.
Never gave this a thought actually...have been happy printing off each month's block as is. Our printer is automatically set to "fit to page." I am not a techie but my husband states that each printer can be so different it would be hard to make a "generalized" how to...
ReplyDeleteSince you are visiting two different web sites to download patterns, you might have to manually change each time which setting you are using??
Will be interested to see how the others respond. I personally have had no issues with the PDF download from Sentimental Stitches.
I just click on the link below the photo, it opens in a pfd format and I hit the print button, no choices for me. I wouldn't worry about it, none of these blocks are the same and as long as they fit onto the background, it will be fine. I'm not making every circle and leaf the exact size/shape as the pattern and no one will know that when it's all done.
ReplyDeleteI started to think about it too, when I started the maltaville blocks. I think my earlier Cherry tree blocks might be out of size, but I am not fussing about it as they are all a bit wonky anyway. Wendy
