I have finished my first block and am happy with the results.
This was technically my first block that I started last year. I was not happy with the fabric. It was too thick and just did not lay right so I gave up and put it in the "to do someday" pile. I am much happier now that I have decided to use prints!
I am so glad I found this blog it is spurring me on to work on the blocks.
Your choice of more modern fabrics is wonderful! I can't wait to see your blocks as they develop...a new spin on classic patterns!
ReplyDeleteOh yes!!! You are definitely on the right track now. I loved your palette when you showed us, but I so LOVE your block now that it is made. It is going to be a stunning and fun quilt. Keep up the good work. I can hardly wait to see the next one.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I love the block with the polka dot background. It is so much better than the stack of fabric you showed. I've been curious to see how it will make up and it's going to be an amazing quilt!
ReplyDeleteoops, they both have polka dots, I'm blind! I see you are planning on reverse quilting the cherries in block #1. Brave soul!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabric choices - this is gonna be one fun quilt!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet fabrics! Perfect for this quilt!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to sparkle! I see you have balanced the leaves equally on each stem...my #2 block is being laid out now and I am undecided about going with the original or evening things up...problem is - I like Both looks!
ReplyDeleteYour block looks good enough to eat. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
